Dan Ty Ba (Pipa)
The Pipa is a plucked string instrument, used popularly in Viet Nam. In Asia, some countries also have similar instruments. The Vietnamese Pipa originated from the Chinese Pipa. This instrument is used in variety of performances. The instrument is played solo in traditional works and as part of traditional orchestras such as Tai Tu, Hue court, Reformed Theatre, general national and symphony Orchestras. The Pipa music is light cheerful and lyrical. The range of the Ty Ba is three octaves, from C to C3.
