Dan T'rung
T'rung is one of the popular percussion instruments closely associated with the spiritual life of the Gia Rai, E De, Ba Na, and other ethnic minority people in the Truong Son - Central Highlands of Vietnam. In the past, T’rung has only four or five tubes, but now it has more tubes arranged lengthwise horizontally and attached together by two strings. To play, The T’rung is hung according to hammock style and player uses stick. The sound of T’rung is strong, cheerful, majestic, and clear as the stream. Today, this instrument has been transformed according to12 halftones of Western style to use in professional art groups.
