The Dan Nguyet is the plucked string instrument of the Vietnamese people. The Dan Nguyet also known as Nguyet Cam, Dan Kim. Resonator’s shape is flattened circle like the Moon. The Dan Nguyet has long neck and high frets creating soft and smooth sound when players pluck and vibrate.
The Dan Nguyet is used extremely popular in Vietnamese traditional orchestras such as Chau Van, Traditional operetta, Tai Tu, Bat Am, ceremony orchestra… and new traditional orchestras today.
